Switching to Progressive Automations actuators: what to expect during the swap
I’m planning to swap out an old 12V linear actuator in my DIY workstation with a newer model from Progressive Automations. I’ve never done a replacement like this before, and I’m curious—what kind of things should I watch for during the swap? Any tips for making sure the new actuator fits and operates smoothly without messing up my existing setup would be awesome.

When I upgraded my old actuator, I followed a checklist that really helped. I used Replace my linear actuator with Progressive Automations https://www.progressiveautomations.com/pages/replacement-chart to compare stroke length, mounting points, and voltage first. One thing I learned is to double-check the wiring and connectors; even small differences can throw off the installation. Testing the actuator in place before fully securing it saved me a ton of headache, and it worked almost seamlessly after that.
