Bio

In 2017, Crystal Anthony transitioned from 13 years of teaching middle school to a career in coaching athletes. Her enthusiasm for endurance sports and travel has seen her pursue marathon running, triathlon, cyclocross, mountain bike, and gravel racing across the world over the last dozen years. She currently races cross country mountain bike, endurance mountain bike, gravel, and cyclocross for the Liv Racing Collective. Alongside this passion for competition is her passion for health, and a love for cooking creatively with nutritious foods. She looks forward to sharing her knowledge and experience with her clients and helping them chase their goals.

Crystal has a wide range of experiences as an athlete, a coach, and educator.  She holds a BS from Gordon College in Kinesiology and an M.Ed. from Harvard University in Human Development and Psychology.

Since 2004, she has coached cross-country running, marathon running, as well as various disciplines in cycling.  She has worked with athletes of all ages, teaching youth cycling programs, coaching college teams, mentoring local women’s teams, as well as leading cyclocross and mountain bike clinics for both children and adults. She has coached individual athletes in both running and cycling.  Read more about her coaching philosophy here.

Additionally, Crystal brings a depth of experience in health education. She worked as a health educator at Gordon College, with responsibilities including creating a website with resources regarding nutrition, exercise, and sleep; educating athletic teams on macronutrient goals, training and race fueling, and general meal planning; one-on-one consulting regarding diet and exercise habits; designing and leading cooking classes. She is an avid cook and baker herself, and routinely publishes original recipes based on using whole foods and appropriate macronutrient content.

As an athlete, Crystal missed the Olympic Trials for the marathon by 16 seconds and raced as a pro triathlete in the half ironman distance before finding her niche as a cyclocross racer. She is a 3-time Cyclocross World Championship team member, has extensive experience racing cyclocross in Europe and all across the country. Always looking to develop new skills, she began adding mountain bike races to her schedule and grew to love the discipline, earning multiple marathon mountain bike national championship podiums, Epic Rides Series podiums, a Pro XCT win, multiple top-10s at XC mountain bike nationals, and enduro podiums.  She has also competed in several mountain bike stage races including Cape Epic and the Leadville Stage Race.

Most recently, since moving to Bentonville, AR she became intrigued with the endless gravel road adventures in her area and began adding gravel races to her schedule, earning podiums at the Belgian Waffle Ride in Cedar City, Steamboat Gravel Race, RPI Baked Potato, and a win at the inaugural Rule of Three. In 2022, she competed in the inaugural LifeTime Grand Prix, including a 5th place at Crusher in the Tushar and a 13th place GC finish. She has raced in 12 countries and counting.

Crystal grew up in Beverly, Massachusetts with 6 younger siblings, many of whom also race bikes!  She loves exploring and discovering new trails, and experimenting with new recipes. She also enjoys photography, drawing, Bananagrams, and watching mindless TV shows to relax. She speaks Spanish and French, and loves to travel.
