Bored during recovery weeks - any advice?
Hey everyone, I’m currently on a forced recovery week after a pretty intense marathon block and I’m losing my mind with the extra free time lol. I usually spend my evenings checking my training stats, but I need something to take my mind off the soreness. Does anyone here do anything "non-athletic" to kill time? I’ve seen some people in my local cycling group talking about crypto-gaming or sports betting while watching races, but I’ve never tried it. Is it even worth the hype or just a distraction?

Man, the post-race blues are the worst lol. I usually end up cleaning my bike five times or obsessing over my Strava segments from three years ago.
Actually, I tried that crypto stuff during my last injury layoff. It’s definitely a time-sink, so be careful haha. I spent way too much time on a site called playbet io just because they took USDT and I didn't have to deal with my bank asking questions about "gambling transactions" (which is a whole other headache). I was honestly expecting it to be a scam since it’s all crypto-based, but I actually got a small win on some tennis matches and the payout was surprisingly fast.
It’s not for everyone and honestly, I’d rather be on the climbs, but for killing an hour while your legs are in compression boots, it’s not the worst distraction. Just don't lose your race entry fees for next season!
