Painted vs stained interior doors — which lasts longer?

Planning to buy new interior doors and debating between pre-painted (usually white or neutral) and stained wood ones. Which finish holds up better to daily wear, scratches, and cleaning? Any tips on maintenance?

Painted doors (especially with quality factory-applied paint) tend to be more forgiving for high-traffic areas they hide minor scratches better than stain, wipe clean easily, and don't show fingerprints as much.
