Why does a roof still fail even when good shingles are used?
Hi everyone! I’m trying to understand something that doesn’t quite make sense to me. Many contractors focus almost entirely on shingles when talking about roofing, but I keep seeing cases where people choose quality shingles and still end up with leaks, condensation issues, or mold in the attic a few years later. A friend of mine replaced his roof recently and was shocked when problems appeared even though he paid extra for “better materials.” This made me wonder if shingles are only part of the picture and if there are other roofing components homeowners should actually pay attention to. Can someone explain why roofs fail even when the visible materials seem fine?
